Briana Huisman LM, CPM WA/ID
Briana has always loved birth and the mama/baby dyad, but started down her midwifery path shortly after witnessing her first home birth in 2002. That birth was pivotal in so many ways, and by the spring of 2003, she started the midwifery program at Birthingway College of Midwifery. She went on to intern at Mercy Maternity Center in 2006, and then completed a year-long apprenticeship at Andaluz Waterbirth Center 2006-2007.
After graduating from Birthingway with a Certificate in Midwifery in 2009, Briana went on to complete a Bachelor of Science of Midwifery in 2012. She has been a CPM (Certified Professional Midwife) through NARM (North American Registry of Midwives) since 2008. Briana has been serving families in the Spokane/North Idaho area since 2018.
Briana married her husband Ryan in 2009, and they welcomed their son Caleb through the miracle of adoption in 2017. When not attending births, she loves spending time with her family hiking, playing games, and taking trips to the beach and the mountains. She is thrilled beyond words to serve Wild Womb Midwifery families as a Washington and Idaho Licensed Midwife.
Kayla Duval LM, CPM WA/ID
I have been involved with birth work since I had my first daughter in 2007. I started working as a doula and fell in love with midwifery in 2015. I have been blessed to work with many midwives in our local area along with midwives in a high-volume birth center in Utah.

I steadily worked towards my CPM from 2015-2018 with the PEP Process. I finished my qualifying numbers in 2018 and received my CPM in 2022.
I carry state licenses in ID and WA
NARM Preceptor.
I am a mother to 3 girls and 1 boy(girl,girl,boy,girl) and am married to my husband, Joe. We have 3 dogs and 5 cats and our turtle Fat Jeff. In our free time our family loves spending time together by playing volleyball in our backyard, having pool parties, BBQ’n with friends & family, lake days. Lately we have been working on house projects and creating a large garden space. I love spending time with my kids whether that is going shopping (teenage girls), playing video games or going to their sporting events.
Briana and I started this practice after working at other practices and living and breathing the crazy midwife lifestyle. We wanted the ability to be able to still do what we love but not give up our family time. We truly are living the best of both worlds at Wild Womb Midwifery.
Chelsea Halverson LM, CPM ID
Hi! I’m Chelsea, mama to two beautiful boys and married to my wonderful husband of almost ten years. I was born and raised in the Spokane area and my family and I love to explore nature and get outside with our friends. I also enjoy weaving when I have spare time. I felt called to midwifery after the healing birth of my youngest and I’m so so excited to see where this journey leads!
We are thrilled to announce that Chelsea sat for her NARM Aug 2023, passed and is now licensed in Idaho and working towards her Washington license.
Aubrey Thayer, Student Midwife
I run Evergreen Valley Doula Services for birth, postpartum, and specialty doula services such as belly mapping and postpartum meals. I’ve had three homebirths that have each ignited and deepened my love for this work in differing ways. Becoming a midwife has been a longtime dream of mine. After spending many years supporting births in various settings, I was given the opportunity to join this team and learn from an outstanding group of midwives as a student midwife.
My husband and I have four kids, two dogs, and an undisclosed number of chicken friends (chicken math). I’m an avid cook, seamstress, and only a mildly crazy plant lady. My family is big on spending time outdoors and you can usually find us outside on the weekends hiking, foraging, or playing disc golf.
